Yellow, Orange and Green are the predominant colors of the fall season in Colorado and surrounding states. The vegetation is different from other states such as the New England area where predominant colors are Red, Green and Yellow.

Montpelier became the capital in 1808, when the first State House was built. Second State House , built in 1838 was destroyed by fire in 1857, similar to this third structure on the site completed in 1859.
