White Phalaenopsis Orchid after the rain MG_7921
Looking at flowers after they’ve been soaked with rain water add new dimension to their allure and splendor. The second orchid was about to experience a new stage in the flower life cycle by opening later in the day its magnificent petals.

I took this shot after some heavy rain this morning. This orchid from my patio collection was falling and held in the air by a spider web. Amazing and strange nature phenomenon.

The Race Track offers great opportunities to photographers to practice their panning skills. It is also fun to watch. If you are a gambler, that’s a different story.
Scarlet Macaw & Parrot in Flight
There are over 350 parrot species worldwide, of which 16 species occur in Costa Rica. Typical characteristics are their strong hooked bill, short necks and a compact body. Parrots are mostly found in lowland forests and can reach ages of up to 80 years! The most frequent colour scheme is green, but the Scarlet Macaw (Ara) is famous for its red colour.
Like many other birds, parrots are monogamous breeders. Scarlet Macaws (known as “Ara” in Costa Rica) are legendary for their lifelong faithfulness.
